These include Clubs, Bowls, Reader Visitor Services and Drop in Centres which are run and organised by Volunteers with the support of the Community Development Officer and Community Field Worker.

NEW: Volunteer drivers for fundraising activities.  Willing to take a volunteer and possibly a guide dog to and from a store/street collection in their area.

NEW:  Volunteers needed for our hospital information desk

We urgently need volunteers for the following services and activities, see volunteer role descriptions for more detail:

Reader/Visitor Volunteers required in
•    Stratford
•    Warwick
•    Leamington Spa
•    Rugby
•    Kenilworth
•    Coventry
•    Nuneaton and Bedworth
•    North Warwickshire

Nuneaton Club

An organiser/leader is required to develop a programme of events and activities eg speakers and entertainers.  Help is also needed to organise transport and the occasional trip/lunch out. Club meets at Reg Haddon Court, Weddington, Nuneaton fortnightly on Thursdays 1-3pm.

 Southam Club
General help is required at our Southam Club which meets fortnightly on a Wednesday in the Congregational Church in Wood Street  2-4pm.
Help to set up the room, to meet and greet our members and help with the refreshments. There is a programme of activities arranged. You would have the support of a friendly team of Volunteers.
If you are lively and outgoing and would like to help please contact us.

Hamilton House Rugby
We urgently need a helper who could put together a programme of entertainment and lunches out, for the club meetings. You would have the support of a friendly team of volunteers. The club meets fortnightly on a Friday between 10am and 2pm.

Leamington Spa
Help is required for the Good Companions Club in Leamington Spa which meets at Chandos Court 10am-12pm fortnightly on a Wednesday.
This club is well established, with a very friendly group of Volunteers but requires extra help. They have a programme of activities which includes speakers, entertainers, trips and lunches out. Help with some of the organising would be very welcome.

Office Volunteers
Help is required at our new headquarters in Budbrooke Road, Warwick. We currently require help with filing, photocopying and periodically help with our large mailing list (envelope stuffers).
If you have office experience or would like to gain some work experience we would like to hear from you. We are a friendly group to work with.

Drivers
Drivers are always required to take our members to and from our various venues. You need to have your own car and possess a clean full driving license. Expenses can be met. The work would be in your local area.

New Drop-In Centres
We have opened new Drop-In Services in Coleshill and Atherstone.
If you would like to help us with the setting up and running of these centres please contact us for a chat.

WAB Mag
Help is needed with our in-house magazine.  We need an extra co-editor and some reporters.

All of the above activities are organised by volunteers, supported by WAB staff. Without our wonderful army of volunteers we could not offer these services, which are so valued and appreciated by the people who receive them. You could make a difference to a visually impaired person’s life by giving an hour or two of your time.

If you would like more information please contact Elaine Ball on 01926 411331
