THE MIRACLE WORKER  by William Gibson

Dramatic, poignant, life-affirming and ultimately triumphant, The Miracle Worker depicts the true story of deaf, blind and mute American child Helen Keller, whose life changed completely with the arrival of a new teacher.

For 15 years, internationally known artist George Shaw has been making paintings of the Tile Hill housing estate in Coventry where he grew up. For the first time this collection of paintings is shown in the city they represent, in a FREE exhibition at the Herbert from 18 November 2011 to 11 March 2012.

On Tuesday 29 November from 4pm to 5pm we will be running an after-hours audio description event exploring some of these paintings. It continues the Herbert's series of talks for people with visual impairments.

Stop Press:This event was so succesful that we plan to repeat it on October 13th 2012

Our Centenary Dinner on Saturday 29th October was much enjoyed by all present.  Thanks to Chesford Grange for excellent food, to our keyboard player for excellent music and to Bill Hannis for organising.  Last but not least, to all our guests for joining in with gusto!
