Nystagmus Network Open Day

 
Seminars, group discussions, activities for young people and an opportunity to share the experience of living with nystagmus are all on offer at the open day of nystagmus network (NN) being held in Birmingham on 16th October.
 


Views on concessionary travel

Warwickshire County Council (WCC) has launched a survey to gather views on changes to arrangements for providing concessionary travel schemes.

Currently, concessionary travel is funded by the Government who allocate resources to local authorities at district, borough and unitary council level to deliver the service. From April 1 next year the Department for Transport (DfT) is transferring responsibility for the administration to county level as part of a national £180 million saving.

Useful information from BT

BT can offer billing in Braille, large print and audio CD which also contains an MP3 file and a text data-file that can be accessed from a PC.  They also have a very cheap telephone package which is attractive to people who are at home for much of the day and reliant on their phone.  For more details see link.

Roadworks in Warwick bring major changes to bus services

Major roadworks on Theatre Street and Bowling Green Street in Warwick will result in temporary traffic arrangements and changes in bus services.   Roadworks start on 31st July and last until 12th October or later.  Mercia website gives details.
