Visually Impaired Children

Welcome to the WAB website. Visually impaired children have different needs and can get different help from visually impaired adults. Here we provide some useful links to the help available. First of all it is useful to know about Eye Conditions.

Contact WAB for advice and information.  Further help is available from the Integrated Disability Service, particularly the pages for parents. Also the family information service is a good source of information. Specialist charities are:

Jubilee sailing trust caters for people aged 16-25

Living Paintings provide special touch and sound pictures via their free postal library service

Books can be obtained at no charge by post from young Calibre

Parents can download packs to help with becoming more involved with their children's learning.

Over 100 electronic textbooks will be available for print-impaired learners in September 2010.
